Producer/Director

Juan A. Mas is a Colombian-Cuban producer and director with deep roots in the indie world and decades of on-set experience. After rising through Roger Corman’s studio system in Los Angeles as an AD and UPM, Juan built a reputation as a nuts-and-bolts filmmaker who can bring challenging projects to life on any budget. His career has taken him across the U.S. and abroad, where he has produced and directed features, mini-series, and television as a longtime member of the Directors Guild of America.
Juan is known for guiding stories with a kinetic visual style, vibrant characters, and the gritty honesty of real life. He enjoys crafting classic, emotionally grounded storylines—but he especially loves taking a genre and giving it a fresh, unexpected twist that pushes the audience into new territory while keeping the heart of the story intact. Whether he’s leading a crew on set or shaping performances in the theater communities of Spokane and Seattle, he brings collaboration, clarity, and passion to every project.
Beyond filmmaking, Juan serves on arts-focused boards supporting creative growth across Washington State. His proudest role, however, is being a father to three amazing young adults.
